Scientific Conference 2027

1st EUP AH&W Scientific Conference on Animal Health & Welfare

1. Introduction

We look forward to welcoming attendees to our first Scientific Conference on Animal Health & Welfare to be held at the University of Milan, Italy, a research-intensive university, and the only Italian member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU). The conference will take place from the 19th January to the 22nd January 2027.

The Conference will be a key forum for researchers both internal and external to EUP AH&W, across the diverse animal health and welfare arena to discuss issues, share experiences, and present innovative solutions.

Conference content

We invite researchers to submit abstracts in the following areas:

• Design and harmonization of surveillance and monitoring systems for animal health and welfare.
• Adapting risk assessment and alert communication to the new needs in animal health and welfare.
• Diagnostic procedures, methodologies and tools to support the surveillance of animal health.
• Procedures, methodologies and tools to support the monitoring of animal welfare.
• Guidelines and preventive tools to fight animal infectious diseases on farm and during transport.
• Guidelines and prototype solutions that advance animal welfare on farm, during transport and at the end of life.
• Interventions and treatments, against priority animal infectious disease.
• New or improved vaccines, adjuvants and immune-modulators.
• Integrated approach on animal health and welfare including socio-economic aspects.

All submissions will be considered by an expert panel, and a range of oral and poster presentation opportunities are available to both established and early career researchers. The conference will feature high level keynote speakers.
