On January 31st, 2025, partner and candidate Research Performing Organisations will be invited to join the development of new JIPs
The strategic research and innovation agenda (SRIA) of the EUP AH&W includes 51 recommended actions to be executed during the lifetime of the Partnership. A major part of these actions will be implemented as Joint Internal Projects (JIPs). A JIP is conducted by partner Research Performing Organisations (RPOs). The partnership was launched in January 2024, and a first set of 17 JIPs was initiated. These 17 JIPs were based on 16 actions (one action was split into two JIPs) and were all planned for a 3-year duration. The 17 JIPs include actions from all 9 operational objectives in the SRIA and are described in the Grant Agreement as Set of Activities (SOA6 to SOA22). These SOAs are conducted by consortia of between 5 to 30 RPOs each (yellow cells in the diagram below), under the supervision of a chair (orange cell in the diagram below) and several task leaders.
17 new actions were now selected and will be transferred into new JIPs. The short titles of these 17 actions appear below, grouped by their respective priority areas:
For each JIP, an outline was developed based on the action, describing the objectives, some expectations on the content of the project, and expected outcomes and impact. All partner RPOs, as well as RPO candidates
to become future partners, will be invited to join working groups (one per JIP outline) to develop further the scientific content of each JIP and draft a full proposal. The invitation, including the outlines of the 17 new
JIPs, will be sent to the General Assembly members on January 31st, 2025. RPOs will be asked to reply by completing an online survey by February 21. If you are a researcher from a partner RPO or a RPO candidate
and are interested to take part in one of the new JIPs please contact your General Assembly representative. Based on the RPOs responses, the working groups and their chairs will be chosen early March. Each working
group will be given about 13 weeks to develop a project. The final JIP scientific content needs to be aligned with the outlines and with the internal strategy of each partner.
The online RPO survey will include questions related to the RPO:
- Indication of interest for one or more JIP outlines.
- Indication of the budget for the JIP of interest (approx. 48% of the total budget will be reimbursed based on eligible costs, implying that approx. 52% must be in-kind contribution).
- Qualifications for participation in JIPs in relation to facilities, scientific competence, previous involvement in projects within the topic, CV for key scientists and a list of most relevant publications.
The survey will also include questions related to a potential chair candidate:
- Project lead experience and experience with international projects
- Scientific qualifications within the topic of interest.
- Estimated time required and estimated availability
- Other relevant skills such as people skills and dissemination/communication skills
In addition, the potential chair will be asked for a motivation (max. ½ page).
